It is the mission of the Madison County Sheriff’s Office to maintain social order within prescribed ethical and constitutional limits while also providing professional law enforcement, detention, and communications services. We will enforce the law in a fair and impartial manner, recognizing both the statutory and judicial limitations of police authority and the constitutional rights of all persons.

Investigator Patton started with the Madison County Sheriff’s Office in 1990 as a Dispatcher/Jailer.  In March of 1993 he completed the Police Academy and transferred to the Uniform Patrol Division as a Deputy Sheriff.  He was promoted to the rank of Lieutenant in 1998 where he served until 2004.  In 2004 he transferred to the Criminal Investigation Division and in 2009 was promoted to Chief Investigator of the Madison County Sheriff’s Office.  Jimmy has completed SWAT training, and specialized Criminal Investigations training throughout his years with the Sheriff’s Office.
