Where do I go to pick up a copy of an Incident/Accident report?
Incident/Accident reports can be obtained at the Administrative Division of the Madison County
Sheriff's Office Monday Thru Friday between the hours of 8 a.m. and 4 p.m. This office is located at 1436 Hwy 98 West in Danielsville.
Is there a charge for an Incident/Accident report?
Sheriff Thomas does not charge citizens to obtain Incident/Accident reports.
Who do I contact to report an error in my Incident/Accident report?
If you have an issue with the accuracy of a report, you should first contact the deputy that took the report. Please realize that a deputy may make mistakes, and those will be corrected, however, no report will be altered or changed that is factually accurate.
I have received a traffic citation. How do I dispose of it?
Traffic citations are forwarded to the Madison County Probate Court. Please contact them at 706 -795-6365 for any questions regarding fine amounts, court dates, and any other questions concerning traffic citations.
My relative/friend is in jail. When is visitation?
Visitation is held daily Tuesdays thru Sundays from 8 a.m. until 11 a.m. and again from 1 p.m. until 4 p.m. Each inmate is allowed four 10 minute visits per week. You will need to conact the jail at 706-795-6211 to find out if you are an approved visitor, or if you have any other questions regarding inmate visitation.
My relative/friend is in jail. What can I bring him/her?
Within the first 72 hours of incarceration, an inmate may have 3 white t-shirts, 3 pairs of white socks, and underwear brought to the jail for him/her. These must be new, unopened, and in the original package. Packages containing more than 3 of each will be opened by the Jail staff and the allowed 3 will be given to the inmate and any remainders will be placed in his/her property to be turned over to the inmate upon his/her release.
When will bond be set for an inmate?
When a person is arrested, and taken to the Jail for processing, after the booking process they are allowed a phone call to notify someone of the arrest and bonding procedure. There are some charges that have pre-set bonds by the judge, and thus bond is immediately available to be posted. All other charges require appearance before the judge for bond to be set, and this may take up to 72 hrs. You may also call 706-795-6211 to see if bond has been set for an inmate.
